How will the society use my donation?
We are 100% powered by volunteers. Your donation will primarily go toward the costs of putting on the pride festival, including supplies, booking and service fees, equipment rentals, printing costs, advertising, and performer honoraria.
We may also use your donation for other events, advocacy, education, website hosting costs, promotional materials, and essential office supplies like pens and paper.
Our board is completely volunteer, so we will never use your donations to pay directors. However, we may use your donations to reimburse directors for costs incurred in the exercise of their duties, such as the cost of transportation, food, postage stamps, or fees paid / supplies purchased on behalf of the society.
Can I get a tax receipt for my donation?
In Canada, only registered charities may issue tax receipts. At this time North Island Pride Society is not a registered charity, so we cannot issue tax receipts.
If necessary for your records, we can acknowledge receipt of your donation, but it cannot be used for tax purposes.
How do I cancel a recurring donation?
To cancel your recurring donation in PayPal, follow these instructions. For more more information, see PayPal’s help guides. If you have trouble cancelling your recurring donation, please email us and we can cancel it from our end.
